Celeste Marsan

Platform Scientist Eclipse Bioinnovations

Celeste Marsan, PhD, is a Platform Scientist at Eclipsebio, where she works across the full design-build-test-learn cycle for RNA therapeutics, spanning mRNA and other nucleic acid therapeutic modalities. Her work bridges the experimental and computational sides of RNA development, connecting IVT manufacturing, functional characterization, and quality control with the predictive models that inform sequence design. Before Eclipsebio, she built the wet-lab foundation for Terrain Biosciences’ AI-driven RNA design platform, work that contributed to Terrain’s acquisition by Eclipsebio, and contributed to R&D across a range of complex mRNA constructs and the manufacturing and quality control workflows behind them. Celeste holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Seeing What Standard QC Misses: Sequencing- First Characterization for mRNA & Next-Generation RNA Modalities
11:00 am
  • Direct RNA sequencing characterizes multiple core quality attributes in a single read including identity, integrity, and poly(A) length
  • Next-generation sequencing resolves the mechanistic drivers of IVT RNA instability and impurities, including dsRNA and sequence-level degradation that bulk methods miss
  • Integrating sequencing into quality control de-risks IVT RNA drug development, turning QC data into actionable feedback for sequence design and manufacturing
